Phil50 Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Hi, Is it possible to fit footpegs from another model of BMW bike to my R1150RT? I'm looking to gain about 1/2 inch of distance between the gearshift and footpeg. My ankle is at an uncomfortable angle but I don't think it merits a footpeg lowering kit. A more compact footpeg may solve my problem. Anyone done this already? Cheers Phil
ninermatt Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 I would check out the Lockhart Phillips catalog and see what they have. Its a lot of sportbike stuff but they may have something that works.
Boffin Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 The gear shift is adjustable within reason. There is a turnbuckle behind the footrest mounting plate. The slot in the plate limits the amount of adustment available but it may be enough for you. Andy
otis Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 You could increase the diameter of the gear shift lever. Good Luck...Pat
Phil50 Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 Hi Boffin, I'll have a fiddle to see if this helps. I assume I can get at it without removing the mounting plate. Many thanks for the suggestion and to others for their input. Cheers Phil
