I know of Mark Parnes, and Aerostich. Does anyone have any thoughts on which is better or any other brands for that matter?

Thanks in advance everyone.

I have the MP unit. I've used it about 10 times, never had any issues with tires being unbalanced.

I also have the MP unit. I like that it is a portable size although I have never had it out of the garage. The stand I made for it is not portable. After I balanced the rear tire I took off the the hub and went through the process again and found it to have repeatable results. Same weight in the same spot. That's good for me.

I've got the MP unit and it works just fine but lately I've been using Dyna Beads and I've been quite happy with them in both my Tiger and my DR.

Another option would be to not balance them at all, or use a Dyna Bead-type product.

I bought the one advertised in the MOA News called Beemer Balancers for my 1150 GS. Seems to work fine. On one occasion I had a slight bounce in a front wheel after mounting and balancing a new Tourance. I took the wheel to a shop for a spin balance. They said it was spot on; didn't even charge me for checking it. Turns out my bounce was due to not having gone through the proper sequence of bolt tightening and wheel bouncing when I had put the front wheel back on the bike.

Another vote for not balancing.

I've mounted a whole bunch of tires on a bunch of bikes, never balanced, and never had a problem.

note: When I say "never balanced"...the wheels were balanced at some point by a shop. I did not remove any of the weights, but I also did not go through the process of balancing again.

I've taken tires I installed without balancing to 160mph on the racetrack with no problems at all.

Of course, YMMV.

Thanks for all of the input. I went ahead and ordered the MP, real nice guy and will be shipping it out today.

Mark's a first-rate guy, and a fast mofracker as well.
