jar_of_clay Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I have had a difficult time keeping tires on my 07 GT, so before we left on our 14 states in 18 days trip I installed the Road Pilot 2 on my GT and K12RS. They held up better than I thought. I was expecting to put a new pair on each bike before returning. To my surprise, both sets still had tread on them when we arrived home. Maybe the RoadSmart tires are just as good, but I ain't switching. Sam
jar_of_clay Posted July 12, 2008 Author Posted July 12, 2008 We normally have gotten 4 to 5K out of a tire. On our trip we traveled 7200 miles and still were not down to the wear bar. I will have to admit, we were not riding as hard as we usually do. I was prepared to make a change at 5K, but we did not need to.
PhillyFlash Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 The old Pilot Road tires typically would go 7500-8500 miles (for me, at least). I'm expecting (hoping) to get at least that many miles out of the Pilot Road 2's. Great tires so far.
