You can return it to Sears and get a new one.

That's a pretty cool find, Shawn.

My one and only moto flat was from a walnut pick. The entire thing disappeared through the tire into the interior pressure area. Got bent when it hit the rim.

re: the Craftsman screwdriver, I laughed, but it's absolutely true - bring that thing to Sears and they'll hand you a nice brand new screwdriver.

My 1981 R100RS EML GT3 Sidecar rig vs. 4x4 post in the traffic lane on the freeway. Thank goodness the special built 15" rims were tube type. The tire was bulging so bad, the sidewall was rubbing on the swingarm as it came around to that bent spot. The front rim looked the same way.

Thanks so much for sharing these, shawn -- and if you don't mind, I'll save copies of your photos to show students an oh-so-practical reason to always conduct a pre-ride check of their bike... No need to be miles away from home and find yourself off to the side of the road with a flat -- or... uh... worse <>...

Oddly enough this was the last thread I read before heading home for the day.

As I was exiting the garage I heard the familiar hiss of a tire deflating. upon further inspection I pulled about a 5 inch lag bolt from my rear relatively new Z6.

Not the strangest thing to come out of a tire, but definitely strange timing!

BTW, Big thanks to John from BMW motorcycles of Milwaukee for

being in the shop early (before hours) and making sure I was ready to roll. I was only an hour late to work.

That's pretty crazy, Shawn. Can you imagine the odds of that happening again?

I'm sure the ice racing rule book said it was OK to use screws in the tire, but dang if I can figure out why anyone would want to?????

Some one once told me he thought he recognized the screw he pulled out of his tire, it was the air jet needle from his carburetor...Oy vey!

Yipes! I'm surprised you got it out in one piece.

Knarly photo! I don't have a pic... last summer a pulled a 10" spike from my truck tire. Only the head was visible on the outside and I thought it was a nail. I pulled on it and it kept coming, and coming, and coming... sheesh!
