kobi1 Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Does anyone know the torque setting for the hollow bolt on the oil cooler return line on a r1100rt? I thought this was the oil drain bolt and removed it on my rookie oil change. Won't do that again...
ShovelStrokeEd Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 I don't have the torque spec but finger tight and then a bit of a grunt with an appropriately sized wrench should work fine so long as no grit has entered the area. As a matter of good practice, you should really replace both sealing washers whenever a banjo bolt connection is disturbed. You should also make sure the area is scrupulously clean before assembly.
kobi1 Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 Thanks. I found the torque spec, it's 35 Nm. I am hoping that NAPA carries the 16mm aluminum crush washers. Live and learn.
