I am riding from John Day to Bend Oregon and I will need a new rear tire. I don't expect a non MBW dealer to have the adapter to balance the tire. However, if a member knows a dealer with the ability to balance a 1200RT tire please respond. I will check for a response in the morning. I will need a 180 X 55-17 preferably a Z6.

Forget about balancing it--just skip it. I never balance mine for just road use. Relax!

++ What he said. I replaced a rear at a Yamahonda dealer on a week long trip in June, and of course they couldn't balance it. I haven't felt any difference; however I will put it on my Marc Parnes balancer this weekend just "to see" how close it really is.

Just get the tire, ride, and enjoy!!! And when you get back home, get your stealer to check it if it makes you feel any better.

I agree with David. I normally do balance my tires, but if I was on the road and couldn't do it for some reason I wouldn't think twice about it.

I'd just leave the weights where they are at. In many cases I've heard that the wheel is most of the imbalance anyway. I think you'll find that the weights don't move a whole lot.

Pro Caliber Sports, Bend Euro Moto and Sage's Street and Dirt are the best bet. Sage's put on a new set of Z6's for me last fall and they made an adaptor (R1200ST). Pro Caliber and Bend Euro Moto are more likely to have the tire in stock.

Bend Euro Moto's # is 541.617.9155

If by chance you're heading towards the coast, BMW of Western Oregon in Eugene can help you out for sure. It's another 134 miles from Bend. Their # is 541.338.0269

Well the tire I got was a Dunlop Sports Max at Caliber Sports. I figured they would have Z6s for the FZR Yamaha but all they had were ME880's, not a bad tire but not what I wanted. Same for the Sports Max. No big deal for now.

I was waiting and waiting so I walked off to take a comfort break for a couple of minutes. When I returned they drove the mounted wheel and tire to Les Schwabs for balancing. So it got balanced. They also charged me about 30 dollars more for mounting than my dealer in Fresno. But the good news is I got a tire and was back on the road by within 2 hours. Beggars can't be choosers I was once told in grammar school.

Thanks for the
