Deek Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I have had RAM mounts on my motorcycles, but they are all the "U" bolt style that go on the handle bars. I need to mount a Roady XM radio but I am not sure how or where to mount it on the RT. Anyone have a suggestion? I don't want to drill into the fairing or anything drastic like that. I hope there is something that works on the BMW's non-handlebars? Thanks. BTW, I can't get the SEARCH to work on this forum. I did a Search for "RAM" and it came up empty. Tried before for "tank bag" and other things and go zero results. Any ideas on that?
Boffin Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 For searches, try the How to use the search function sticky thread in discussion board support. There are a couple of options for the RAM mounts. There is one that replaces the clutch fluid resevoir cover, one that fits under bolt heads and can be mounted to various places. For many options take a look at RAM-Mounts motorcycle products page. Question - you connect the AUX line from the BMW radio to the jack on the Roady, right? Does the radio's audio then come from the stock speakers on the BMW, or do you have to use a headset to here the XM radio?

I use an Autocom system, with a small Amplirider amplifier to control music volume. I don't use gps voice prompts. I do use custom molded earphones for both hearing protection and higher fidelity of music and passenger talk.
