DaveTheAffable Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Yikes! BALLVILLE TOWNSHIP -- A Fremont man was hit in the chest by low hanging wires as he was driving his motorcycle on Baker Road Wednesday. William Witt, 59, was driving a 2007 Honda Shadow at the time of the accident, which occurred about 3:12 p.m. (edit - Daylight?) according to the Fremont post of the Ohio Highway Patrol. Witt's wife, Alyce Witt, 53, was a passenger. Neither were taken to the hospital and no citations were issued. According to the Fremont post, there were low hanging Time Warner Cable wires across the road about 3 feet high and Witt didn't see them. The wires hit him in the chest and he lost control and went into a ditch. Time Warner Cable was notified.
DaveTheAffable Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 oops - Sorry if I put this in the wrong place. If I had pre-empted the article with, "Part of 'Riding Well' is to look for obstructions above the roadway, as well as along side and above the roadway"... would it have stayed in "Ride Well"?
blkvelvt Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Maybe he should go wireless bluetooth for his connection.
motoguy128 Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 I hate the cable companies... now I have one more reason to appreciate my sattelite dish. I'd still be on a waiting list I think for a HDDVR I requested back in late October '07. First they said 2-3 weeks, then 2 more weeks. I finally after waiting about 6 weeks, called Dish and 2 days later I had what I wanted. It sucks to buy a nice new 47" flat screen and not have any HD channels. I had a neighbor that had a cable "temporarily" run across his yard. 4 weeks later he finally told them, either bury it or I'm mowing right over it. I'm tired of lifting it up by hand to mow around it. Glad this guy wasn't killed. I hope they come to a fair settlement.
