Mr_Yuk Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I just found cords showing on my Z6 rear tire for my K1200S (tire size 190/50 ZR17) and I am in Lakeview, OR. We plan to be in John Day tomorrow (Monday). Any ideas for where I could get help, like maybe in Bend, OR.??? Rod

Effjay Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I'm in La Pine tonight (29 mi S of Bend). bendbill Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Best bet in Bend is Bend Recreation, now Pro Caliber. Same address and phone. They ARE open on Monday. I don't know if Bend Euro moto is open Monday, but David the owner may return off hour phone messages. In addition, 2 new independent shops have opened. Do not know names but one is on Highway 97, the main drag, just north of Highway 20 on west side of street. I'm working late Monday day 2-5:30. Call me anytime if there is another way I can help 541 771 1990
leonb Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Bend Euro Moto is not open on Monday, according to their website. But I have good experiences with them and they do an excellent job. Try them anyway, I would say. Cya Tuesday!
outpost22 Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Bend is quite a ways from Lakeview to ride on cord. You may be better calling Klamath Falls. There is a place called: Tread and Track Motorsports 3500 Eberlein Ave. Klamath Falls, OR (541) 880-5577 I don't know what they have, but may be worth a try. They are closed on Mondays, but open Tuesday at 9 a.m. There is also: Action Motor Sports 441 Gordon St. K. Falls (541) 884-8644 Another option is I'm going to be riding through Lakeview Tuesday morning. I could try to find you a tire here today (Monday) and bring it over. We are going to be 2up and loaded, so it may be difficult to strap my tire machine on the back of the RT but if you can find a place in Lakeview that has facilities, maybe that is an option? I think we may have a few dealers here who may be open today.
Bruce H Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 If you want a tire today Cycle Gear is open 7 days a week. They will mount and balance but not touch the bike. These are the stores in Oregon. Portland, OR 8930 S.E. Stark St (503) 257-7047 Salem, OR 180 Lancaster N.E. (503) 589-1515 Springfield, OR 3137 Gateway Street (541) 747-1575
skinny_tom (aka boney) Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Are you still there? What happened? Is it possible to have someone like swmototires.com send you a tire overnight and have the polaris dealer in town put it on the rim for you? KBE Lakeview 14 S F St Lakeview, OR 97630 (541) 947-5871
Dances_With_Wiener_Dogs Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 UPDATE: Rod and Julie put the bikes in a U-Haul and drove to Bend. They were in La Pine when I spoke with them at 536p and thought that they were going to miss the dealer for the evening. They were preparing to overnight in Bend, get changed and hotfoot it out to JD in the morning.
Mr_Yuk Posted July 11, 2008 Author Posted July 11, 2008 Thanks to everyone for the rapid responses and suggestions, they were very helpful!! Sorry I haven't gotten back to update this until now, I did not have access to a computer. Rather than chance riding 180 miles on cords, we decided to truck the bikes to Bend, Bend Recreation/Pro Caliber, on Monday. Got there late for various reasons but we got new tires on Tuesday and made it to John Day late Tuesday afternoon. Pro Caliber did a great job and had great prices on tires. Thanks again, everyone! The Unrally was funtastic. Rod
