Deek Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Headlight Modulator Example Anyone installed a modulator on their head or tail light? I have had that "pulsing" headlight on my last 5 motorcycles and really do think it draws attention.........makes me think I can be seen more approaching intersections. I understand there can be difficulties with the BMW motorcycles due to something I think is "Can Bus" or something like that. I'm hoping a headlight modulator at least can be connected without difficulty.
gordiet Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I have both on my !200 RT and problems. Kriss Indusrties has good stuff. I think it makes people see you and that's the whole idea.

Ken H. Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Without getting into the pro & cons of them in principle, they can be installed on CAN-BUS equipped bikes.
Deek Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 Thanks for the feedback. I know folks either love or hate headlight modulators, but for the riding I do, where I do it, I believe they make me easier to see. I have had one pu truck driver flip me off once; really strange. He was at a left turn signal. I was going straight on that road, we were facing each other at a stop light. I guess the modulation bothered him, as when his left turn light went green he flipped me off. I thought it was odd. I do turn mine off in the rare case where I'm stuck behind someone and moving. When at a stop light I angle my bike so I'm not "aiming" at anyone's mirrors, sort of at a lane splitting angle. Bottom line; he knew I was there.
Don_Eilenberger Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I have both on my bike. www.kisan-tech.com - they have CanBus specific models that avoid getting error messages from the can-bus. Look for models with a "Z" option. As far as hating them - well, tough titty. The goal is saving my ass, not making someone happy.
