Redbrick Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Does anyone have any knowledge of the Slime tyre inflator? I`m considering buying and wondered about reliability and ease of use Kathy and I carry them on our bikes....Never had to use one "in anger" on the road.....Just testing in the garage....Just plug it in and it pumps..Requires an BMW plug-in to SAE pigtail.....Fairly compact in a nice, semi hard case...Well thought of by many I think you'll find....Price is right... http://www.slime.com/product_111_Power_Sport_Tire_Inflator_(40001).html Phil........Redbrick
ShovelStrokeEd Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Been using mine, off and on, for years. No problems. I use it to top up my tires for a long trip or during a long trip.
MIST Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 The "Slime" brand tire pump was a recommended best buy in Motorcycle Consumer News. Mike
flyingreg Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 It works, the price was right, compact, lightweight, seems dependable.
hopz Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Picked up what turned out to be a nail at the last Torrey, 50 miles from anywhere... I think it was BFE, but, I had the Slime Air Pump... first time to use it in anger.... worked like a charm. It goes where I go now.

Kerry in Mpls Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Does anyone have any knowledge of the Slime tyre inflator? I`m considering buying and wondered about reliability and ease of use Great little unit, in a tidy carrying case. I timed filling a tire (170/60ZR17) from flat last year. Took 3 minutes to get to 25 pounds, then each additional 5 pounds took about another minute. 6 minutes and change to get to 40 pounds.
xbubblehead Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I have one in the car as well as in my side case on the bike. Nice and compact, I haven't had any problems with either unit.
bobsden Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 thanks all for your comments, have just placed my order. cheers
