Wiring Harness Failure - R1200RT

I'm at my wits end & looking for some input on what I can do. On June 16 my 2007 RT died in traffic & wouldn't re start. I called BMW roadside assistance & that worked pretty good - & arranged to have it towed to the nearest dealership ( not the one where I bought it ). After a couple of days of diagnosis the dealer determined that the wiring harnes had grounded due to incorrect factory installation, during assembly. I'm not happy but stuff happens - I'm told that there's another harness in Canada & I should be back on the road by the weekend. Drags into another week & find out that the harness has been back ordered from Germany. It's been 3 weeks now at the dealership & no end in site. I've called BMW Canada - the service person told me that he would talk to the dealer & get back to me. He never did. Also spoken to the dealer that I purchased it from - he is sympathetic but can't help because the RT is at the other dealership. I'm now hating the fact that I bought this bike & someday when I get it back - I'll be considering options. Stuff does happen but still to me it's totally unacceptable to wait 3, 4, or more weeks for a part - due to a workmanship error on a new machine. I feel abandoned by BMW Canada & the dealers. Anyways - if someone in this group has some advice on where I can go from here with BMW Canada - I'd appreciate it. Next fear for me is that they'll get the new harness & find that the problem, failure to start is still there.

Today finally picked up the motorcycle. It's been been quite a process - just short of a month waiting for parts & repair. I asked BMW Canada for compensation due to the long time frame, poor workmanship, & service. They agreed & we settled on credit for 2 10k services. Anyways I'm working at getting over it & enjoying motorcycle again.

Did notice on the trip home that the odometer is flashing. Read in a previous thread that this may be due to a software issue with diagnostic equipment. Is flashing but seems to be otherwise working. Thinking that this can wait until my next service.
