Made it all the way home in piece today. Thanks to Fernando's recomendation I stopped at Mephis Champion BBQ in Vegas (http://www.memphis-bbq.com/)and enjoyed some baby back ribs and a pint of Newcastle while watching the Preakness horse race in air conditioned comfort.

Torrey's weather is outstanding this weekend and I was sorry to have to make such a quick exit this morning.

Thanks to Killer's wrecking crew I pumped up my tires and ended up getting 40MPG while averaging about 95 the whole drive home.

Ride safe and enjoy!

I'm learning to ride like Steve Carr!

The family had some important stuff for me to be involved in today so I needed to get back for them. Luckily I was able to squeeze a nice trip into the plans.

Home at 2:00pm local time after overnighting in Mesquite.

Great trip even without a motorcycle. The Cummins ran flawlessly. I haven't checked mileage yet but I have a quarter tank left after 580 miles home from Torrey. Must be around 23-24 mpg.

Badadam, it was nice meeting you Friday evening when you arrived in town.

Home at 2:37pm. Left Torrey 5:30am (CT) Temps got down to 33F (COLD!) and up to 111F just outside of Las Vegas and an average of 107F all the way home...ouch! :dopeslap: :dopeslap: :dopeslap:

Thank God for the evaporative vest and "Camel Back".

At least I made it home safe and sound.

Had a great time meeting new people and camel (thats another story) The people on the BMWST forum are simply the best group of people on the planet. What a great site!!!

Left this morning from Torrey at 0530 and 47 degrees. It quickly dropped down to 29 degrees but didn't last long. Other than the 106 degrees I registered going through Phoenix, I arrived home in SE Tucson at 3 PM. Great weekend, great rides, great friends. More to follow,

Back at Casa Hopz about 1:30. Happy to say the trip was uneventful.

Traffic on Sweeper Madness northbound was terrible. I had to pass a car.

The rest of the trip was also congested. Had to stop at a traffic light outside Provo, but we made the other one on the green. That was the one light on the entire trip. Something in excess of 1,000 miles.

The top of Huntington Canyon was still in snow but the road was clear and dry and not very cold either.

Hope to hear a positive report on Andy and Debi's friends.

Details and photos to follow soon.

Left Torrey at 6:30 am Arizona time, arrived home at 3:50 pm, and 106 degrees!

This was one of my most enjoyable Torrey's. Had 3 days of great riding with good friends, met a few new people, got reaquinted with some old friends (good to see you again, Adam; it's been much too long), looked at beautiful scenery, rode much too fast, smoked excellent cigars, and even learned about geese flying at 29,000 feet over Mt. Everest. Not much more I could have asked for, except for some sorely missed friends to have been able to attend (Tool, Russell, Wurty, Nora, and a few others). The weather was some of the best there has been at Torrey. I'll post a few photos and some highlights later. A most excellent weekend.

Twisties and Bullett home at 6:30 pm. Left Torrey at 10:30ish.

Kudos to the two sheriff's deputies on I-70 Eastbound, who felt our speed didn't merit an award.

Nice ride over Sweeper Madness, then I-70 to Hwy 6. Edit: Wow! many thanks to the guy at the Walkers in Heber City who told us I -80 was closed. KSL news Lunch at Walkers' south of Price, then UT 191 to Hwy 40, then detoured to Provo Canyon due to a truck rollover on I-80, with fire, we were told. Then I-15 North to home.

Thanks, everybody, for a wonderful Torrey!

Now, it's "Margherita time!" Later.

Made it back safely at 5:00

Bike ran pretty well through the heat. The brake failure light came on outside of Barstow. I sat for a minute, restarted the bike and the light went out. Happened again in Cajon Pass, same thing shut off, restart, no light. Hmmm... Told Linda this was strike one.

Great seeing all the folks and getting in some pretty good riding.

Ride Safe,

Made it home OK riding with Howard and Dave Farrow--an uneventful but quick trip down into the heat--

Weather at Torrey was absolutely great-- makes us even more jealous of Killer.

Was great to see some old frienda and visit with the regulars and even add some new faces and names--

We had a great 8 bike parade down 95 that was great to watch as it snaked through the curves.

Until next Torrey!!!

Home. Sorry I bailed early without having a chance to say good-bye to most of you. Getting sick after looking forward to this trip for so long really sucked. At least I was able to see some old friends again and had an unbelievable ride up Huntington Canyon. I will remember that ride for a long time!

Left at 5:45am Utah time and arrived home 6:45pm california time. HOT hell yes it was hot. It was an adventure for sure. Out of Torrey the temps were 36F degrees and in Baker 106F. Evaporative vests work well when wet.

Home safe today from my first trip to Torrey. Left Sat morning and stopped in Bridgeport for the night. Had to cut the trip short due to a tooth ache. Barry offered to help with my problem but never came through with the scotch and tools. He did come through with the beer, again. What a great ride.

In at 7:15. That officialy qualifies as a long a$$ ride. Left 6:30, 172 to 70, breakfast as Mom's Cafe in Salina. 89 to 15 to 84 home. Subway in Twin Falls. Last couple of hundred were tough with a banged up knee from a couple of weeks ago, but the Russell was the ticket. Cut my trip short due to death of a friend and got home to find I missed the service anyway but had a cigar and a shot of tequila on Sat in a canyon by Bryce along the road with Oly's memorie and another half a cigar on top of sweeper madness with the deer and the cows and Gleno, with a prayer for peace in all who know him's lives and a thank you for all of the love and loves of mine. A nice quick trip. Stayed in the shadows and didn't meet the people who I wanted to but had a wonderful trip. The geographical splendor of the area and the chance to reconnect with someone at a boarding school in Koosharem melded well in terms of continued healing. Oh, Yeah! I'll be back.

You caught us. I guess I might as well not even show the doctored up pictures then. Everyone who wanted to see those needs to thank Motorman587 for exposing this fabricated event.

They are being well taken care of and their family is there with them. They will recover, but it may take some time.

Thanks for everyones well wishes to them and please keep sending your thoughts and prayers too.

I will give more details later.

Hi Everybody!

I got back to Barstow about 6:45 last night. Had a great time at my first Torrey! Met a lot of great people, got to ride a lot of really beautiful roads! I left Torrey with Carl and John; we had a relaxed ride back to the 15. When we pulled into Mesquite it was quite toasty for the rest of the ride home. Carl split off at Nipton Road, and I separated from John in Baker because I needed to stretch my legs and finish off a bottle of very warm water. From there it was a quick blast home!

I just want to thank everyone for making me feel welcome at Torrey, and a thanks to Arizona Al for the great earplugs!

Special get well to Mike, your looking good. The computer solved the 27,000 ft goose bet!

Home Alone - You're All Gone!

BeniciaRT_GT departed last around noon. Great to see all those I managed to see and I look forward to seeing you again in September, if not before.

Having arranged for the change in weather (it's 83 right now) I have to pay starting Wednesday, highs in the 50s with snow at night is forecast through the weekend.

There seems to have been some confusion about my house - everybody is welcome at any time - don't knock, the door is open - come in and make yourself at home.

I just pulled in to Topeka, Kansas after leaving the Denver area about 5:30 this morning. It was boring slab, with warm temperatures and somewhat of a wind -- what, it's Kansas you say? No snow, though.

Had another exploding truck tire today, thankfully on the other side of the interstate this time. Gets your attention in a hurry.

On to Greenfield, Indiana tomorrow (east of Indianapolis). Plan on being home on Thursday. Weather's going to be cooler as I head further east.

I see Steve checked us in. It is good to be home even though it is 99 degrees out right now, ugh.

Let's see--we rolled for 4.5 days, 43 hours in the saddle and 3,055 miles of great fun, fellowships and spectacular scenery.

Thank you for leading us around AZ and UT, Dave and Howard. :)

My only regret is that we can't do this every season of the year.

It was good to see you all!

Lori & Tony back 2:00 pm Monday after a Sunday night stay over in Mesquite, NV. We didn't leave early enough to avoid the heat but stopped at all the larger towns to rehydrate and soak down the gear. The 1510 mile transmission test proved it to have worked!

Great seeing everyone (that we could see)! The time we spent there went too fast.

Arrived home with Gwen after a leisurely crossing of US50. I've never seen lighter traffic, better road conditions or weather. Figures I wasn't on the bike....

Amazing the great geese debate... Evidently these geese fly over Everest (27-29K feet altitude) when alternate routes a few miles away are 10K feet lower....

Thanks to all for the support received! It was great to see many friends again, some friends for the first time again (I have a heck of a memory), as well as meet some great folks for the first time (really!)

Hope to see all at the UN!

side note: Motorcycle tip 101 - Never hang ones camelback from back of bike then hop on bike to put in the garage.

Result - broken back fender and trashed camelback.

Duh!!!

I'm home! Braving torrential downpours and hurricane force winds, 1400 miles in, in, only, uhhh...

Damn, I'm no good at lying. I'm in Adair Iowa. Found a clean $35.00 motel with wi-fi! Wow! I just had to post!

Oh Boy! "Happy Chef" for din-din!

Should be home early tomorrow afternoon.

Goodnight All!

Home 1630 pst Monday. Good seeing some old faces, as well as new. Thanks Az AL for the new ear plugs. Great job!

Left Torrey 0800 Sunday via UT12....gonna call that road "Deer Madness". Missed one by inches at well over 55mph. Saw at least 20 on the trip up to the summit. Stopped at Bryce on the way out. Good weather, then increasingly hotter towards Cedar City.

By the time I made NV 375, it was really hot. Spent night at the "Clown Motel" in Tonopah ( 1bmwfan recommendation). Quite an experience.

Left Tonopah today at 0630, hoped to shoot through Tioga and Yosemite, but pass was still closed. Opted for Monitor and Ebbetts passes, both clear, but riders watch for lots of sand!

As always, a great gathering.
