RT Backrest

I'm in the market for a backrest for my SO. We don't always need the topcase. Are the backrests I see for RTs easy on-easy off? I would appreciate any pros and cons. Thanks

I purchased the Cee Bailey's passenger backrest for my '04 RT. The wife really likes it. It has a wide pad and is fully adjustable (vertically and horizontally). It attaches to the RT rack with 6 bolts.

Hey Smitty, how much hassle is it if you want to go with topbox instead, 10-15 minutes? Thanx

I don't own a top box so I'm not really sure. This Bakup passenger backrest isn't what I'd call an easy on/easy off since it mounts using 6 bolts but I don't plan on taking it on and off anyway. I can still use the rack behind it for mounting additional luggage if I need to.

I have this setup it can be taken off in a minute to use the trunk. Not cheap but well put together.

Thanks guys, since we need the topcase for long tours I guess I'm going to have to do some more research on this topic. I do need to be able to switch back and forth between the two.

Don't want to hijack this thread , but I have a Reynolds backrest for an RT that I was going to take to the Rockford Flea market in April. No modifications to bike, attaches with just 2 bolts to luggage and goes on and off in literally several minutes. Was going to ask $ 100 for it...it is excellent condition....send me your e-mail and I will send a few pics....resolution to large for posting here.

Fireman- whos's setup is that- it seems to be the best of both worlds- does it remove using hardware or is it locked on? Hard to tell from the picture-

Thanks-
