TestPilot Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I purchased the BMW Electrical Circuit Diagram CD a while back to get the circuit diagrams for my 2007 R1200ST. I've been able to sort out all the signals between the various control units except 3, and wondered if anyone on the site can help. Here are the 3 signals. 1. A single wire labeled WL that connects the Instrument Panel Control Unit, the Central Chassis Electronics (ZFE) Control Unit, and the Alarm System (DWA)/Tire Pressure Control Unit. 2. Two wires labeled DFAH and DFAV that run between the Engine Electronics Control Unit and the ABS Control Unit.
Ken H. Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I believe WL is the warning light connection. I'm not sure why they don't send that over to the display via the CAN-bus, some sort of a fail-safe I would guess. ISFA DFAH and DFAV though, I don't seen them on the diagram I have. What pin numbers on the BMS-K or ABS module?
TestPilot Posted February 9, 2008 Author Posted February 9, 2008 Doing thhis - because inquiring minds want to know. As long as I'm going to pay for the CD, I'ld like to know what it really says. Ken, DFAV goes from BMS-K connector 9630 pin 50 to ABS pin 14. DFAH goes from BMS-K connector 9630 pin 51 to ABS pin 10.
BigAdv Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Can not answer your question without seeing the wiring diag. That being said, what CD is the wiring diag.s from. I was under the impression that the wiring was not on the repair manual DVD. If it is please let me know or if its a different DVD please give part #. If you post a pic. of the wiring, I may be able to help. Earl
TestPilot Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 The witing CD is separate from the repair DVD. The PN I have is 06 73 7 713 999, dated 07/2007, and covers model years 1993 to 2007.
BigAdv Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Cool, thanks, and I assume that it covers the wiring as well as the witing. Earl
ShovelStrokeEd Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Oh good, a noob spat Gentlemen, We generally avoid getting personal here and try to keep the invective down. Spelin misteaks hapen! Not everyone is a perfect typist or a grammarian. No need to get upset if corrected and no need to poke fun, except with the most evil of intentions, of course.
bmurphypdx Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 We generally avoid getting personal here and try to keep the invective down. You may have misinterpreted. It does seem like "bite me" could be an invitation. Of course, as you say, that would be getting personal so the two of them should probably talk offline at this point (maybe they are).
BigAdv Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Bite me! My comment was Tongue in cheek, hence the smile. Just trying to be funny, apparently not the board for it, will check all forms of levity at the door and be dead serious from now on. This motorcycling business is serious stuff, with serious people, not to be poked at. My seriously sinsere apology. Earl
Ken H. Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Ken, DFAV goes from BMS-K connector 9630 pin 50 to ABS pin 14. DFAH goes from BMS-K connector 9630 pin 51 to ABS pin 10. That doesn't match mine. Sorry I can't help.
