EffBee Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I've just had visits from the reps from the major distributors. In conjunction with the DealerNews Motorcycle Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis next weekend, virtually all of the tire manufacturers are announcing price increases of 8-12%. Since businesses set retail prices based on replacement cost, this means an almost immediate increase on the price of tires. Just a reminder. If you think you're going to need a new set of tires this year, you might want to consider purchasing them right away. The savings could be as much as $40 now vs. later.
noel Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Thank you for the advance warning. New sets will be on order come Monday.
USAF1 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 My last rear 880 went from $120 to $180..... Pat
Tapatio Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Heard the same from my dealer. I just bought some Storms at the old price before they go up.
smiller Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 If you think you're going to need a new set of tires this yearI would love to need only one set of tires a year . Thanks for the heads up, will get a set on order. Man, all the price inflation in just about everything lately has me more worried about the economy than talk of recession.
Deadboy Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Thanks for the info, just order a set of front and rears after reading this...they have gone up a little at SW Moto, but not much, since my last order...but that may still be a pre-increase price....
OlGeezer Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I would love to need only one set of tires a year . I know what you mean, brother. I bought seven tires last year!
Paul Mihalka Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 "I would love to need only one set of tires a year." I would NOT love to need only one set of tires a year. It would mean I don't ride enough...
smiller Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 "I would love to need only one set of tires a year." I would NOT love to need only one set of tires a year. It would mean I don't ride enough... Yes, I guess I did phrase that rather poorly...
Bob Palin Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 My last rear 880 went from $120 to $180..... Pat Nitrous inflation?
