Lockguy
Does anyone have any experience with the Formotion thermometer? The size, .375 X 1.5 inch seems OK and the quality of construction looks good. My concern is accuracy mounted in the instrumental panel area. Any other suggestions? Thanks Lockguy Link to comment
BluegrassPicker
I have one & it's an excellent product. I have it mounted on the top right of the dash and it reads a little high due to the warm air coming up under the tupperware. Link to comment
Boffin
Do you have the OEM radio fitted to your RT? If not you may want to consider George's Temp Display that fits where the radio's info panel would normally go. Disclaimer - George & Kathy are friends of mine but I have no fiscal interest in his temp gauge. Andy Link to comment
BeamieToo
Lockguy, I have installed the RS thermometer as linked by Boffin. I can tell you that the installation is quite simple, works great and looks very good. I masked the display off and sprayed the left half of the unit mat black to blend in with the dash and eliminated all the print. Just think it looks better that way. Also the price of 40 USD incl. shipping is fair because the unit costs about 20 euro's (approx $30.) direct from RS in Holland to my home. Since he will pay the postage from the UK I think his price is very fair. Link to comment
Troy
I have one, it's black with a black face. If it has been sitting in the sun it is not very trustworthy I think I'd get a white face if I bought another. I do look at it on those cold morning rides into work, it's a good reminder of how idiotic I must look to those people in nice warm cars. Link to comment
Lockguy
Thanks for all the input. I think the George's instrument sounds like it might be the better set up as it can be mounted in the dash and the probe can be placed anywhere I want it. Thanks Again Lockguy Link to comment
BeamieToo
Hey Lockguy, Just a BTW... First I had the sensor probe up in the dash and I was getting high temps off the oil cooler. The inside of your left mirror housing behind the glass is the way to go for accurate readings. Link to comment
swilson
Here's the one I got from Aerostitch. Its nice... but if I'd seen the one George came up with first I would have gone that route. Link to comment
awagnon
Here's the one I got from Aerostitch. Its nice... but if I'd seen the one George came up with first I would have gone that route. I have the same one on my RT. It doesn't seem to be waterproof. I'm on my second one and have moved it down below the idiot lights where it's a bit more protected from water. Link to comment
