Quinn
Having returned to motorcycles a year ago, I'm amazed at how many things are no longer an issue with my 1150RT. The oil useage is still there, the engine still clicks and ticks, still can't lug the engine, and I still have trouble getting the reverse to work in my garage and driveway. Somehow, I've just gotten used to everything and they're no longer issues--they're character! I've learned to just add oil, wear earplugs and be comforted by the noises the engine makes, plan my parking maneuvers, and keep the revs up. In my job, we called the process "lowering the customer's expectations." With the RT, I don't think it's lowering it so much as aligning it. What things do you remember worrying about that are now "no longer an issue?" Link to comment

Quinn
I went for a ride today and thought of two more. How could I forget the front brake? I went around for six months asking everyone who had an RT if the brakes were supposed to be that grabby. And is it supposed to try to throw you to the ground when stopping? The other is the tall first gear. I figured that you'd have to be at about 6k rpm if you were starting uphill with a passenger and still need to push off with your feet to get started. Now, it's all normal and expected. No longer an issue. Link to comment
