johnks
I just purchased a used R1150RT. There is a running light switch on the dash that lights up when it's turn on. However, I don't see any running lights. Was this an option from BMW? Link to comment
flars
The switch controls two little lights up in the corners of the headlight housing. They are 'fog lights', but are probably 'city lights' for use in Europe and work in conjunction with the euro-switch (which American bikes don't have). Link to comment
BFish
if it's upper left could be the "fog lights". part of the headlight assembly. Link to comment
knight88
This is the foglamp switch, if this was a CA 1150RTP it could have been disabled, but most likely the lamps are burned out H4s Link to comment
Michael_T
Hate to shift the conversation, but is it true that the foglights are "relayed" and draw power directly from the alternator/battery but the high and low beams are not "relayed"? I am trying to see if I am reading the wiring diagram from the Haynes correctly. thx Michael Link to comment

The headlights (main and dip) get their power, via the load shedding relay, and the fog lights have their own relay. Andy Link to comment
