Laminar Lip and Pillion comfort

Recommended Posts

I ride 'wind in my face' solo most of the time ... At least 2 or 3 times a year I ride 2000+ mile trips with my bride. Does anyone have experience with the Laminar Lip vis-a-vis passenger comfort?

Thanks - DH ;~)

Well after 46 views, I see no one has responded to your que. I have a laminar lip on my F650, so I can't relate how it affects a passenger on a sport tourer, but I can say that it as a whole only does a marginal job on the F. It was pretty much a waste of money.

Can't speak for the passenger but for me on a GSA, it made a significant difference. Much quieter such that I can actually hear my helmet speakers at 80 mph. Before, I needed in-ear speakers.

I've never experianced the effect of the Laminar Lip on an RT. It is how ever one of the best add on (Farkles) for the ST1100. The wife did say it was a big improvment for her on the back of that bike, no longer felt as if she was being beaten up. She no longer rides with me so my 04' GSA is setup for just me, one up. The LIP on GSA is also a big improvment over stock, very quiet with very little buffeting.

I swear by the Laminar LIP and will at least give it a try on any bike I own in the future. thumbsup.gif
