Michelin Pilot Road 2

Anyone have experience with these tires that they would like to report?

I'm especially curious about the claimed increased longevity over the original PR's.

I've been through several sets of the PR's and now it's time to order tires again, is the added cost of the version 2 worth it?

Did a several searches and didn't find the info I was looking for.

Thanks in advance.

These were not readily available in the States until late fall so people have not had time to put lots of miles on them. The tests on the Web by the motorcycle press are very positive with respect to wet riding and dry traction in the turns. What remains to be seen is how they wear on heavy BMW's, especially on the front. Given the cupping and strange wear we see on the front with many tires, the two compound fronts could wear unevenly. Until I see some long distance reports I'll stick with the original.

thumbsup.gifLove them!!!!!!!!!!!!! No howl!!!!!!!!!!!!! No warm up in cold weather! It's cold here in Kansas, Toto.

They seem not as hard and go into corners smoother. They still have the flow line off center as the original. Go figure.

Sorry no mileage report as I only put under 1k on my first set before selling the RS. Loved them though, sticky, with even wear (or lack of wear) considering my slab time.

I now have one on the rear of the KS, and after 1500m it looks new.

I have the Pilot Road 1 and it is an awesome tire. The wet handling is stupendous even into triple digit speeds. If 2 is an improvement over 1, I'm sold!

Hello DGuy,

We were part of the first RP2 thread (actually the 13th posting).

We are still extremely pleased with the RP2 (ont the rear, we have a Road Power on the front)

Our milage thus far is 3,000 miles.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to all.

Best tires we've ever had.

I replaced the origional Brigstons with the MPR-2. I like the ride and feel much better right away. They now have aprox. 6500 miles on them. They are not gripping like when new , but still not to bad. You could do worse than the Michelins. IMHO. thumbsup.gif
