TheTick
My wife and I drove from Cincinnati to Gathersburg MD to pickup the R1200RT. The bike was all they said it was but the people were even better. The best part was when Bingo the sales guy was showing us all the cool features on the bike. My wife loved the dual heated seats. He then started it up, and continued his demonstration. He mentioned that the BMW opposed twin is known for it's exceptional duribility, and also the "vibrating".... My wife took a moment.... "It's got heated seats, and it vibrates?" Long stare from my wife, to me, then at the bike.... "What else does this thing do?" We planned to stay over night, and as it was my wifes birthday (yes, she went with me, on a 500 mile trip, to buy me a bike, on HER birthday..god I love her!) But, I also wanted to buy some soft-shell crab (hey, we're in Maryland). So, while I was finishing the paper work, they not only loaded the bike for me on my trailer, they printed out Map Quest directions to the crab joint, and called ahead for us to reserve the last dozen or so crabs they had left! It was a great buying experience, and will make the drive again when I'm ready for another ride. Wonderful facilities, and exceptional people. Thanks Battley. BTW - I also got to see your 1,000,000 mile award Paul. Very impressive, and sorry we could not have met. Please pass along my thanks to your staff. Link to comment

tom collins
congrats. gaithersburg was my backyard for many years. when battley merged with rockville h-d, it seemed like they got the worst of both worlds, they only wanted to sell harleys and knew nothing at all about the eurobikes. i still remember a very bad experience trying to buy a harley in the early 90s. in any event, i am very glad to hear that they have turned that around. it is very promising that the salesman knew something about the bike. i am very jealous about the crabs. i have not been back to the eastern shore in a few years, it is time for a trip. enjoy the bike. there is a pretty active bmw community in the cinti area and a good club. pm me if you are interested in details. congrats. tom collins 04rt Link to comment
