I was hoping to buy some used hard cases for my 1200ST but i had some unexpected bills to pay and now i'm looking into soft side bags. I'm just wondering if some of you are familiar with the different brands, and maybe you have some recommendations.

My son has a really nice set of Cortech bags that he uses on his SV650S.

Available in black, red, and blue, they have a lot of capacity, especially with the tail bag (which snaps right onto the saddlebags.

Cortech also makes some larger saddlebags that are more rectangular:

I don't know anything about the larger bags, but the smaller bags are very well made and have some nice features. They attach very securely and, as I mentioned, with the top tail bag, offer quite a bit of capacity. The only criticism I'd note is of the rain covers. They don't have a drain hole on the bottom, so they tend to accumulate a lot of water inside. I'd probably just skip using them anyway.

You should also check the Aerostich website, www.aerostich.com . They have some good quality alternatives.
