TheTick
My name is Mark Groce, and I'm from Cincinnati OH. Purchaced a loaded 05' R1200RT with only 4000 miles on it. Driving to Gathersburg MD tomorrow to get it. Previously I was big into the sportbike/racing scene, but my age and "body type" are no longer as "crash resistant" as it used to be. But, my wife told me to get HER a bike to take HER out on, and it just so happens that I was talking to some hard-core-touring friends and it sounded like a lot of fun. The more I read about it (this site being a major part of my research) made me even more excited! I look forward to my new acquisition in the garage, and glad to have a new group of frineds. Seen one, you've seen them all, but thought I would throw in a pic of what I got...It's from the dealers web-site. Link to comment
tallman
Welcome. Be careful, it may turn out that the acquisition process has just begun. Looking forward to pics and your post about what are the most important 27 things you should add to the bike. Link to comment
Motodan
The anxiety of it all....sometimes I think the process of "getting" a new ride at least equals having it. Enjoy the process and be thankful you married a wonderful woman. I'm in Fort Wayne, you're still without a dealer down there, correct? Link to comment
outpost22
It's great that you plan to share the adventure with your wife. My girl and I love to "two-up" too. Enjoy your ride! Link to comment

Francois_Dumas
A 'loaded' bike eh? I could never do that.... not with Nina at the ready filling all my cases and then some..... Welcome to the fray..... Link to comment
Paul Mihalka
Welcome Mark to this varied group! I'm sorry I won't be tomorrow at Battley Cycles where you pick up the bike, I would have loved to meet you. Normally I'm there, as I'm there the BMW new bike sales guy, but now I'm at home recuperating from a broken leg. Enjoy the new toy! Link to comment
ERdok
Welcome Mark. I am relatively new to the BMW scene and can honestly say my new R1200RT is the most fun bike I've ever owned. My 2 other bikes have not seen much riding time since the Beemer came along. Enjoy... Rick... Link to comment
kcscout
Hi, from Kansas. Seen one, you've seen them all, but thought I would throw in a pic of what I got...It's from the dealers web-site. That don't matter none. We never get tired of looking at 'em and if you hadn't posted a pic, we'd of asked for it. Link to comment
drdave39
Mark- congrats on the new ride! This is spooky- my new (well slightly used) 06 RT is in Atlanta, waiting for me to pick it up. I live in West Chester so we will have to get together when we both have our new rides. Dave Link to comment
TheTick
Thank you all for the kind welcome. And when do you plan to pick up your bike dr? Link to comment
drdave39
Probably in late Fed/early March. I have to get my 2nd eye done (cataract) and need a few weeks to recover, then I'm good to go. Wouldn't be geting much ridng in about now anyway... Dave Link to comment
