paulcbrowne
I talked to the Hannigan folks and am seriously considering their sidecar. They tell me that they have done one R12RT. I'm sort of hoping that that person might be on this forum or maybe someone who has tried another brand. Before jumping into this, I'd really like to talk to someone who has done it. I love the RT, but trips with the wife and her yorkie just don't work. Also, my knees are getting bad and a hack would keep from having to give up the bike. There seem to be lots of hacks on older BMW, but few on newer ones. Not sure why. Link to comment
rideaway
I have had several sidecars in the past and would also be interested to see what is available for the R1200RT. I sent an e-mail to Armec but they don't seem to reply. They have setups for the R1150RT but don't show anything for the 1200 on there web site. If I were to have a sidecar again it would have to have a dedicated front end on it as it makes it much more enjoyable. As the R12RT is so high geared it would also be best to have a smaller rear wheel on it to lower the gearing. The best one that I had was an 83 interstate with leading link front end and 15" car tire on the back. Didn't like the bike much but it did handle quite well. I would lean towards a Armec or EML sidecar, but we are talking big money for those, Armec about $20,000 EML I'm not sure. Link to comment
BUSTED
You might try R&T Motorrad at www.sidecarcanada.com He does standard and custom hacks. Link to comment

(I am not "related" to Bob or his shop in anyway, except as a satisfied customer.) Bob knows a lot about hacks (he drives a beautiful one in the Baltimore-Washington Ride for Kids, where I volunteer) and would probably be an excellent source of information for you on this subject. His phone number is 301-497-8949 x218. Tell him I referred you. Link to comment
