BeamieToo
Came across this and wondered if this guy was in his right mind OR if I'm just getting older... Link to comment
Huzband
He's well known at Deal's Gap. His 'Wing has re-valved suspension & really sticky tires. Few can keep his pace. In the summer, he's there every day. For a fee, he'll follow you & video the ride, then burn it onto a DVD for you. Or, if you have the quevos, you can ride two up with him. Last year, he did an un-approved SS1K entirely on the Tail. Link to comment
Joe Frickin' Friday
He's well known at Deal's Gap. His 'Wing has re-valved suspension & really sticky tires. Few can keep his pace. A couple of years ago I caught up to him about 3/4 of the way through the Gap. Couldn't find a good passing opportunity, although that was because he was moving right along, not holding me back by much (and from the stories I've heard I don't know whether he was riding at max pace or not). Never saw him dragging parts, which is pretty surprising for a GW. To his credit, when we stopped at Crossroads, he apologized for not letting me by; I had no complaint, I was impressed just watching him ride. Link to comment

notacop
It's nice that Honda has a sport bike that has adquate brake lights to let you know when the rider ahead has bothered to use the brakes. Quite impressive... Link to comment
David
He can also be quite reckless, and stories abound of him misjudging and crossing the center line on right handers. Link to comment
ShovelStrokeEd
I tailed for a while and ran with for awhile on the highway leading up there, he and his buddy on the red bike. 100mph + for no good reason on the highways. He is more than a little squirrly in the turns sometimes. I know, I know, he is hell for fast on a Goldwing but no excuse for some of the liberties he takes on public roads. Link to comment
Quinn
Am I hearing the chase bike scraping? Link to comment
BeamieToo
Couldn't find a good passing opportunity Well Mitch, I think that the reason he apologized was that he saw someting in his rear view mirror that probably closely resembled your avitar photo !!! Link to comment
steve.foote
You, sir, are obviously one of the few. Danny, if you think that is cool, check this out. He has a special warning light on his dash which illuminates when my GS gets within 25 feet of the back of his bike. It tells him to pull over and get a picture of whomever stole my bike. Matts_12GS
I want to know what time of day and week he's there when there is so little @%$@$%@#$%@ traffic out! Link to comment
CoarsegoldKid
I'm not at all surprised to see a GL1800 do this. What blows my mind is when a rider gets it up on the rear wheel and rides. I knew a fellow in LA that ofter wheelied two up on a GL. Link to comment

I've waved him by a time or two. That's partly because I don't want a ticket there. No point in that, IMO. So we just putter through the Gap area these days. Link to comment
Eschelon1
Yea, he handles the GL pretty good but going way over the speed limit on a road like that is just asking to be speared by a cager swinging wide on a right hand turn. The chase bike sounded a lot like an early K bike. Link to comment
