TowJam
Sweet (especially for those of us shorter types who could only dream of riding a Uly). Link to comment
Whip
I like it!!!! May have to check it out. 59mpg....465 lbs. Nice. Whip Link to comment
smiller
Why does the stock market have to be down 15% right now..?! Link to comment
TowJam
Why does the stock market have to be down 15% right now..?! Right. I'm watching my kids' inheritance dwindling by the hour. But I will find a way to get either a GS or the new Uly. (As I was telling my 12 year old, college is soooo overrated.) Link to comment
motorman587
I got to ride one for a few days. I like it, don't if I would own one. They were attempting see if motor cops like the thing. I gave them some request on what needs to be changed. Link to comment

I gave them some request on what needs to be changed. I'm willing to bet that one request you may have had was regarding heat management. The first Buell I owned was a 12R (Firebolt) and when that fan kicked in, it baked my right thigh. It appears to have been fixed somewhat in later model years but then again, the fan would probably drown out the siren. Link to comment

motorman587
The heat was the biggest. Second was wind protection. Could not hear the radio. I loved the motor and weight, very light. If they fixed that, would be a great cop motor. No abs sucked too. Link to comment
fatbob
I rented an XB12X Uly on Kauai last month. I really enjoyed it on the Waimea Canyon road, great handling, torque, and brakes. For the rest of the 250 miles I put on it I found the heat on the right thigh obnoxious, and the bike generally not real comfortable. Shifting was "high effort" (even for a guy like me who rides BMW, Guzzi, and HD!). All the while I was comparing it to my Tiger and the R12GS I rode last year in Italy, and I would much rather have been riding either of those. The temps were around 80 degrees, I can't imagine riding that bike in hotter temps. Bob Link to comment
Whip
The heat is a deal breaker, but I still want to see one up close. Link to comment
JerryMather
With the MSRP @ $13,000.00 .......... I'd be looking a FJR instead. To me it looks like just another Buell with a bunch of aftermarket parts put on it. I wonder why they didn't put the new motor in them instead of the Harley type one that they've always used in the past? The new motor is what people are excited about, from what I've heard. Mister Tee
If that has the new Rotax developed engine I might consider it. I've not heard good things about Buells. Link to comment
Whip
Hey Duc man. The new motor prolly won't get 59 mpg.....and I have an FJR. I love it, but after ridin the KTM around for 20k miles I was look for somethin lighter that can go 2 up. The XT looks awful small, but I've never even seen one up close. FYI....I have not put the passenger seat on the Tuono yet. Whip Link to comment

But even for an aficionado the heat issue is a problem, especially coming from an RT which does exceptionally well with heat management. Link to comment

Firefight911
30.9" seat height 4.4 gallons with 59MPG Standard heated grips Standard luggage (side AND top cases) Fully adjustable suspension (rebound, compression, and preload) Back rest for the passenger is stock. 103 HP, 84 lb/ft. 465 lb. dry weight $13,000 sticker. I like it on paper. I would really like to see this one up close and personal. The heat management is definitely a buzz kill, though. Link to comment

I don't know what a long-term relationship would be like, but most Uly owners seem to really like them even past the honeymoon. Link to comment
johncarves
Here is my friend, Al Butcher, on The 12XT. He is 6' 1" and all legs. I thought it looked small. I didn't think to ask him what he thought. He currently rides a '05 R12RT. This was taken at the IMS in Atlanta 1/20/08. Link to comment

On the other hand, the Uly is even taller than the XT and yet it still looks small under him. Link to comment
hopz
FYI, for those who may have missed it...the Buell's powerplant is a gussied-up 1200 Sportster. Obviously the frame and things that hang on it are special to Buell. Perhaps this is BFO.....blinding flash of the obvious. Link to comment
