Grassman
My local BMW club is putting together a 48 hour rally. We need some input. Please list your favorite ride destinations west of the Mississippi. I will post when and where the rally is going to take place after your input. Thank You Link to comment
gottabmw
Depends what you mean by "destination." If you mean a place to go to as a base camp for lots of good riding in the area, I can think of no better place than John Day Oregon, location for this year's UnRally. Link to comment
Paul Mihalka
I can't think of a better place than Gunnison CO. Superb day rides to North and South, camp grounds, hotels from cheap to luxury, many restaurants, you name it, it got it. Link to comment

AdventurePoser
For a great destination and incredible riding opportunities I cannot think of a better spot than Ouray, CO. For the campers in the group The KOA in Ouray is owned and staffed by moto friendly people, and there is delicious food on site. For those not camping, accomodations to fit many budgets are easy to find in town, or Ridgeway. Super place, IMHO. Steve in So Cal Link to comment

Rider1200RT
Anywhere "Out West" is great. A friend of mine did South America on a motorcycle for a year and although culturally very different, the landscape there was similar to the Rockies, the desert South West etc. I wish I could have gone with him, but when he saw my pictures of Bryce and Zion his jaw dropped. He'd never traveled extensively in the USA!!! Foreign lands sound exotic and sometimes are, but how much of ones own backyard has anyone really seen??? I love the US for it's diversity in landscape and also it culture. There is something to be said about the small towns away from the tourist traps. Maybe after 25 years of living here, I still view the US with a European eye and so far it's been great... Just my 0.02 cts. YMMV. Link to comment
