waylap
I think I'm actually finally liking the looks of the "new" style RT. I still love my 04 but the curiosity is getting to me. Can some of you post some cool picks of your 1200 RT for my enjoyment? Have they made a black one yet? Link to comment

GoGo Gadget
When they first came out, I was unsure. But I sold my '04 last Mar and bought my '07 the next day. Love it, love it, love it. I had a lot of crap going on in Mar/Apr/May so I only put 600 miles on in those 3 months. From June to now I put almost 17,000miles on it. Link to comment

bakerzdosen
Capitol Reef NP near Torrey, Utah That's awesome. How many places besides this one would consider Capitol Reef NP near Torrey rather than the other way around? Link to comment
j4bberw0ck
Still the only all-silver one I've seen, this is mine in the Austrian mountains, above Obergurgl in June 2007. As you might guess from the watermarking, top centre, it's currently my desktop picture at work Link to comment

Teddy
Some nice shots of the RT there, I'm thinking of upgrading the old 1150RS but it seems every photo I see of the headers on the 1200 are brown. Why is this? The only time they are nicely chromed is all the nice BMW brochures I have in my possession atm! Bikes I am considering are R1200ST, R1200RT & the R1200GS (if I can get over the height of this thing) Cheers Teddy Link to comment
Froy
it seems every photo I see of the headers on the 1200 are brown. Why is this? Cheers Teddy As I understand it: Chromed headers turn blue with use, non-chrome headers turn brown. According to my dealer yesterday the chromed headers are easier to polish when discolored. He also said the non-chromed ones gets a more sticky surface and thus collects dirt easier. yngve Link to comment

Steve's on the other hand (if you'd been able to see the headers) would probably have been the colour of dried pheasant's blood based certain of his old posts, and the unerring accuracy of the stupid birds as they sought him out. (Sorry Steve! Hope to hear you're mobile again soon). Link to comment

(Sorry Steve! Hope to hear you're mobile again soon). ...I was talking to Andy about my magnetic attraction to pheasants the other day , and recalling tales [ or should that be tails ] of the amazing stupidity of the bird !! I believe Andy still has a phot of me on the bike when I arrived at his house with feathers still stuck to the engine , 90 miles after the strike .and the following weekend when I was cleaning the bike , I found two more large feathers under the fairing near the top of the forks !! Why is this? Cheers Teddy Um, I think it's cause most folks here ride em. I got a nice compliment from an old guy on our toy run this year. He was admiring the RT and looked at the dirty brown header pipe, looked up and smiled and said "At least you ride it!" Link to comment
