bogthebasher
Has anyone tried to match the Sand-Beige colour? I have Givi top box that I'd like to paint to match my wife's R1200RT. The BMW colour looks quite complex so not holding out much hope. Any input appreciated. Link to comment
frankjasper
Go to a good paint/body supply shop (if the stuff on the shelf says "Only for sale to trained professionals, see MSDS information" or something to that effect, you're in the right place) with a sample. Some suppliers have thousands and thousands of paint chips, and they can mix many of the colors into rattle cans. With good prep and some care, rattle cans can do a pretty nice job on small pieces, especially if you buff out the clear coat. Runs about $10-$20 per can depending. Or pick a nice coordinating color so you don't have to try to match exactly. Link to comment
bogthebasher
Thanks that sounds like a great idea. I was planning on removing the 'colour coordinated insert piece' from the Givi so it will be a small area. I can bring one of the side bags into the paint shop for comparison. Link to comment
