johnlt
After fighting several times aligning the holes to install the six screws that hold the fuel cap assembly to the tank, I came up with a method that works great. I used three 5/32" drill bits and put one in every other hole PRIOR to setting the fuel cap assembly in place. I then lower the fuel cap assembly down over the drill bits and it mainntains the alignment for insertion of the first three screws. I then remove the drill bits and install the last three screws. any 5/32 round stock will work and there is a bottom to the holes so you don't have to worry about dropping through. Works great.
