Must do rides around Phoenix?

Twisties

Recommended Posts

So here's the plan:

We're leaving in the morning for Phoenix via Zion, Page, Flagstaff, Sedona. Arrive in time for Turkey on Thursday. Return by air Sunday, and leave the bikes at mom's for the winter. Return to ride X-mas to New Years.

Here is the question: This weekend we'll be in Phoenix (Surprise) Friday and Saturday and might get a two or three hour ride in. If you had to pick one or two short rides close to town what would they be?

Thanks,

Jan

Hello,

Be sure and go to the C4 coffe company in Cave Creek, The BMW group gets there on weekends about 0730, Then head up to Sedona via Wickenburg, Yarnell, Prescott, Jerome ( Lunch at the haunted Hamberger )

Another great ride in to Tortillo FLats ( Hwy 88 The apache Trail through the superstitions) makes The Dragons Tale Deals gap look tame!!!

We made the Tortilla Flats ride Saturday morning, it was great! Hung with the sport bikes for a mile or two, even. Fantastic ride!

If you're still going to be in Phoenix on New Year's Day, come along with the Rim Riders on our annual New Year's Morning ride (for those not too hung over to be able to get up and ride). We ride every year, usually to Wickenburg and beyond, but it all depends on the weather. You can try registering for the Rim Riders web page, but if you can't do it, check with me as New Year's day get's closer and I'll keep you in the loop. We never know how many will show up; the largest group was about 30 of us, and the smallest about 10. It's always a great way to start the year. Typical daytime highs are in the 50s or 60s with good weather. Especially nice when much of the country is buried under snow.

Thanks!

We have a return flight scheduled for 1:15 pm New Years Day (or if the weather looks good [and we're feeling crazy] we may ride them back to SLC beginning New Year's Eve). Probably won't be able to make the New Year's Day Ride, though it sounds like much fun.
