johnlt
I bought a Fuel Siphoning Adapter from Touratech and quite honestly wasn't sure what I'd get for $15. I though you would be a neat connection but you'd still have to siphon the fuel out. Turns out really cool. You take off a simple side panel from my GSA to access the fuel pump connections. Then you simply disconnect the fuel line with the quick disconnect clip and attach it to this adapter. Then you start the engine and let it idle and it "PUMPS" the fuel out. I emptied 6 gallons out of my GSA tank in this manner it it worked great. Excellent addition to my tool kit. FYI Link to comment

ShovelStrokeEd
8 feet or so of clear fuel line is all I have ever used. You don't have to suck on the line till you get gas in your mouth, once it goes over the top of the bend at the fuel filler on the tank, you're done. Gravity does the rest of the job. One of those siphon starting bulbs is handy when going from a car tank to an MC tank in an emergency. In the garage, I have a couple of 5 gallon carboys left over from my racing days so draining a tank is never a problem. Link to comment
johnlt
I can't believe you didn't get one. I thought you got one of everything in their catalog!!! Link to comment
johnlt
Respectfully disagree Ed. Not only do you need to get it "over the top", you need to suck it down to or below the level of the source (gas tank level). Still very dooable with a controlled "suck" but I've overachieved on several occations so the pump is a + for me. Link to comment
ShovelStrokeEd
Hold tube straight up, or nearly so, evacuate until level is high enough and then just cap the end with your thumb and then lower to appropriate level. That, BTW, is why you use 8 feet of tube, not 3. Link to comment
johnlt
Yep, that'll work. You just need to suck enough up such that when you lower the line, the fuel starts below the level of the source. And you are right, a longer tube will make this less "risky" for getting gas in your mouth. Link to comment
