Truffleswine
I know, I know, - why would I do such a thing in my late 40's? Yes, I broke speed laws, now I'm repenting at my leisure. But it was fun. Anyway, I was minding my own business on a Saturday evening just a couple of weeks after I bought the new R1100S, when some rice-burnin-ninja-boom-splat machine pulled up behind me. He waited for a straight and went by (I stayed behind him). Then the road turned very curvey, - and it was obvious the guy didn't like curves. So, I just stayed behind him (laughing) because my Beemer was carving these curves and hairpins with ease. Then, on the next straight, he tried to make up for his lack of riding skills (on the curves) and opened his throttle. I then decided, "okay, let's see what this thing can do." Well, I blew by him like there was no tommorrow, and never saw him again. My theory is that he was waiting for his power-band to kick in, - but with my twin-cylinder Beemer there is no such wait. By the time his power-band happened I was waaay beyond the next corner. Now I know by experience why twin-cylinders are winning these Superbike road races (i.e. Ducati). Now, my cooler head has prevailed, - and I'll alway obey speed laws. -TS Link to comment
