glacier1100rt
Has anybody mounted a mismatched set of tires? Same manufacture but different tread design front and rear. And if so, notice any handling effects good or bad. I am having problems finding the Michilen Pilot Roads, received the front but the rear is backordered. Thinking about mounting the new pilot road 2 on the rear. Any thoughts? Link to comment
Dick_at_Lake_Tahoe_NV
It appears that SWMototires has your rear tire in stock. I would have no hesitation mounting a PR2 on the rear with a PR on the front. http://arizonamoto.com/Merchant2/merchan...Code=PilotRoad2 Link to comment
NonComp
I have a Dunlop 220 on the front and Metzler 880 on the back. Recently rode 250 miles in driving rain, temperatures in the low 40's on mountain roads. No handling issues. P.S. Did I mention the nasty cross-wind? Link to comment
Mr. Frank
I've run different brands front and back with no issues. Right now I have a Michelin PR front and Avon Storm rear with no problems. The only caveat is not to mix bias ply and radial tires. Link to comment
Stan Walker
The only caveat is not to mix bias ply and radial tires. Even that isn't always true. The original BMW F650's came from the factory with bias ply fronts and radial rears. Stan Link to comment
