Removed existing cover only to find the bolts are retained within the cover by spacers at the top of the threads. Could not get them off The replacement cover did not come with the bolts already fitted to it. Help! Link to comment
grayghost Posted November 4, 2007 Share Posted November 4, 2007 The screws do come out, maybe the rubber washer/steel washer is stuck in the old cover. I know they come out because I removed mine to install touratech guards. Link to comment
ShovelStrokeEd Posted November 4, 2007 Share Posted November 4, 2007 Just push the bolts out from the underside of the cover. If your thumb doesn't work, get a chop stick and push on the bolt with that. Retain the chop stick, it makes a good tool for finding TDC. Link to comment
