Vrex Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Has anyone managed to change out a fog light bulb on an 1150 RT? Following the manual, I took off the rubber cover and found that, with the utmost contortions, I was just able to touch what MIGHT BE the retaining clip with the tip of one finger. I don't really see how it's possible to do this without major disassembly or supernatural intervention. Am I missing something? Any advice would be appreciated. Frustrated, Lee

Frustrated, Lee You're close... the H3 bulb is held in by a double ended clip. both ends of which must release. I lay on the floor and reach straight up to feel and maneuver better. Does the bike have the in-dash speaker pods? If so, and if you are not using them, it is much easier to one time go to the trouble of removing them for future ease of changing bulbs.
alexp Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Take one of the horn out. It makes a lot easier. It takes a lot of patience and try with a long needle nose pliers. That helps. Good luck!
Urban Surfer Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I had the tupperware off when I did mine. No way could I get my clubs in there. I replaced the bulbs with amber OSHRAM bulbs, they are very bright and I don't get into nearly as many traffic incidents.
NoHeat Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 It's really easy to replace foglight bulbs if you loosen or remove the nose fairing. Which is a hassle itself, but if you're already doing it anyway to install a farkle, it's a great time to replace fog light bulbs even if they aren't burned out yet.
