Francois_Dumas Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 http://www.i-bmw.com Dropped in my mailbox today.....
TedG Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Sure do. The i-bmw site is a K Bike forum focused on K12RS and K12S models, although there are posting areas for other K variants. I used to hang out there back in the late 1990s and enjoyed it. I don't know for sure, but I would guess it is one of the bigger and more active BMW boards here in the States. Ted
Francois_Dumas Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 Ah, K-bikes ! I wonder how I got on their mailing list?
Rocket_Cowboy Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 I got one too. I think I stumbled on to that site when I was looking for sites just before picking up my RT, but since it was mostly K-bike related, I didn't go back. Now they seem to be positioning themselves as a "BMW sport-touring" site (at least in their e-mail), but I'll pass.
David Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Just be careful about sending them any money, at least judging from the ridiculous public spats they've had about power, control, and unaccounted for funds in the past.
bvaughan Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 another good kbike site is www.k-bikes.com i've been following these sites for about a year, monitoring the travails of those dealing with BBS (bucking bronco syndrome), airbox failures and high idle. the k1200gt is now in something like its 10th software iteration and its second ecu. sounds like the boys 'n gals in munich may now finally have just about all the kinks out, but there were apparently significant teething issues.
Francois_Dumas Posted October 20, 2007 Author Posted October 20, 2007 Thanks for the heads-up David. I'll save my donation for BMWST
