DFO

Prior to buying this 1100RT, I was told the bike had a Digital Fuel Optimizer. However, having taken the seat off checking for other issues today at the dealership, such as the battery and oil overflow, we discovered there does not appear to be a DFO on this bike, as I was told. Just wondered if there is anywhere other than under the seat it would/should be located?

a what? it has an electric fuel pump but never heard of that one..is this another name for the motronic computer?

Wayne, actually a fuel controller could be mounted about anywhere the wires will reach.. Like under the fuel tank, or in the rear by the tail light, or up under either side panel.. Look for either spliced wires going to one of the fuel injector wire harnesses or a plug in between one of the fuel injectors & it’s wire harness.. On the BMW boxer about all the fuel controllers that I know of need to attach to one of the fuel injector wire harnesses to support fuel control based on injector pulse width..

The dealer felt is should have been in a location that the adjustments could easily be made. Not seeing anything obvious, they feel it is not on the bike. I left a message asking for the previous owner to contact me. That is the easiest way to figure this out. Just be nice to know for sure.

 

We did locate a hidden battery tender plug hiding under the left side panel, I am hoping it fits right up with the unit I just bought.
