The food was Great and the fellowship even better. Even though I live in Bakersfield I think I have eaten Basque food once and that was 15 years ago. I really enjoyed it this time and even tried some of the pickeled cow tongue. Yuck!!!!

It was good to see old and new faces.

Mr Duck, Cornelius (spelling?)flyinggreg and I rode to Glenville and then up into Lake Isabella. Great ride and great company. The sad thing of it all is that I forgot my stinkin camera so sorry no pics. frown.gif

Sorry I couldn't make it, I had to go pick up a Ducati up north. Next ride I'm in, this has been a crazy summer being gone and all.

Hey, look who the cat dragged in. You are one hard cat to nail down in one spot. Get a hold of me when you want to do a little riding. Rob and I are always looking for someone to chase down the backroads.

Will do. Went for 200 miles

Sunday afternoon and shredded the rear tire. It's down to the cords so I ordered a new tire tonight. I won't be able to go until I get it changed and get back from Alabama. Andrew is due back from Iraq and we want to go and see him. Middle of Nov. and I'm going riding!

Do a search on "Bakersfield and Basque" in Ride and Events section, it will have a lot good info there. I would insert a link if I knew how.

Hope that helps.

Well, there's not much to tell and not a whole lot of documentation was done, but okay . . . here's a few pics:

Its great to see "mrduck back in the saddle.

If he is riding with "corny" he is healthy.

Look forward to seeing you guys in DV.

I am really glad that you guys could "combine" the two separate things happening in Bakersfield.

Next time I really hope to be there. I find the idea of pickled tongue fascinating. As a kid we always ate pickled pigs feet. Must have been a regional thing... blush.gif

It is easy to find just off the 99 at Rosedale Hwy (58). Benji's has some of the best Basque food around. There are several excellent Basque restaurants, the best in the nation actually. Benji's, Woolgrower's, and Narducci's come to mind.

Look HERE for a guide to Basque food.

Thanks. I found the listings for all of them. Of course I wanted to know which one you'll went to. Maybe tomorrow I'll pull it off and get down there.
