LuckyLeif
For security reasons I want to power my Zumo 450 from my front fairing Powerlet port rather than other options. I picked up a right angle powerlet plug but am not sure which terminal of the plug is positive. I know this is really basic but it's the first time I've wired a powerlet plug. Also, is crimping to the terminals sufficient, or do I need to solder? Link to comment
Bill_Walker
Center terminal should be positive, shell should be ground. I'll let others debate the merits of crimping vs. soldering. I'm a lousy solderer, so I crimp. In this application, you might want to use the glue-filled shrink tubing crimps, though, to get a water-resistant connection. Link to comment
