jfremder
Carol and I took a little ride last week starting in Milwaukee... First day was 904 mi. to Rapid City DC, with stops at and then on to Crazy Horse which was cool, because we got there before the park officially opened. We took the gravel road up to the top of the mountain where they were blasting... Then on to Mt Rushmore Next stop, Loveland CO BMW, where I had to replace a missing rubber seat bumber. I ran into Don, who used to manage the service dept in Milwaukee, and he fixed me right up. This is the Westin, just outside of Boulder where we stayed -FREE- (don't you love Starwood preferred Guest Points...) A little snack before dinner Then on to the main course Then a quick soak in the hot tub before bed more to come... Link to comment

jfremder
Day 4 was UT-12, by far the best road and views of the trip had a little issue though... Carol was kind enough to get it on camera Link to comment
jfremder
What's with those Steel Culvert Grates anyway?!?!? Ohh well, with a little lighter wallet, and visions of UT-12 dancing in my head, we're off to the Grand Canyon first a quick drive by of Lake Powell Carol says the pics are sharper when we're going under 100mph 85°F now, time to switch to mesh and loose the heated vest The Grand Canyon was cool I was hot... jfremder
The next day had us through New Mexico and Texas, on our way to Oklahoma City for another Saddle Sore 1000. It was boring and hot Got a little rain and a nice rainbow though... After enjoying the Talimena Park and it's 53 miles of delight on Hwy 1 in OK and AR, we booked to St Louis to complete a Butt Butt Burner 1500 by 4PM! The drinks were free (thank you Star Points) Carol loved the bathroom Link to comment
jfremder
Carol slept in. I'm not sure if it was all the free booze, or the 1500 miles we had just ridden They couldn't Valet Park the Beemer, so I left it at the entrance. No one seemed to care Carol managed to snap the Arch as we headed home to Milwaukee Carol laughed as I filled my Hydration Bag with the fancy hotel fizzy water. In hindsight, probably not the best plan, as it kept filling the bag with COª We followed this guy on the 'wing for a couple hours at ~105 or so, till he ran out of gas : Note the cane on the topcase Before you know our week was up, and we're almost home Link to comment
