NonComp
Can you jump start an r1100 through the accessory cable? It's easier than lifting the tank to get at the battery, but do I risk burning out the wiring? Link to comment
AZBaldur
No, I'm quite certain the accessory plug wiring can't handle the juice required to jumpstart. You will blow a fuse or burn wires very quickly. Recharge the battery instead, then start normally. Link to comment
UberXY
I jumped my R11S directly on the positive terminal of the starter once. Getting to the battery was way too much of a hassle. Link to comment
NonComp
Now that I've taken a moment to go back and look at it with the seat removed, I've discovered that it isn't a big deal to jump off the battery with the tank in place. The terminals are quite accessible. What I remembered was that battery removal required the tank to be lifted or removed. Edit: Well, I'm off to Penticton for the weekend. They're expecting snow at higher elevations. Should be a fun ride through the mountains -- a good shakedown cruise Link to comment
