It's not a sure thing by any means, and lately I seem to jinx myself everytime I say "IN!" But I cleared my calendar, rescheduled 3 projects, denied all of my staff's Thanksgiving vacation requests, and made a special offering to the weather gods for good weather during that weekend. I wish I could go but am recovering from a nasty Staph infection (MRSA). How's that for not being the least bit humorous... Luckily they started the right antibiotics in time. The KRS is still in the shop and waiting for the guys in Germany to send all the parts to put it back together. Hopefully I'll have it before the next Torrey ride in May. So for now, my little road trips will have be limited to Willow Springs Raceway and possibly Laguna Seca in Dec. instead. Have fun you guys and don't forget to say Hi to the ladies in Beatty for me. See ya there First, the Pre-Run's size is not limited--all are welcome! Second, it looks like the Amargosa Valley location (the Longstreet Casino) is out for the Pre-Run location. He wants waaaaaaay too much for the rooms and it appears that nothing else that was an issue with previous years has improved any (same surly management, no premium gas in town, mediocre food, no cellphone or internet options, no sheltered parking, etc.). So it looks like we'll likely be checking out Beatty again to see if it can provide anything better/closer for our bigger January group than Pahrump did this last January. Pahrump is still a fine fall-back position (even if some feel it's too far away ) so if we can't find something in Beatty that looks solidly better than Pahrump we may just go back there. Tom or I have to call tomorrow morning and talk to the group rate manager to see if we can knock any more off the room rates for the Pre-Run group so stay tuned! If you're on Leslie's last updated list we'll count you for one room each. If you can't go, or if you're rooming with someone else on the list, please let me know and I'll know then how many rooms we need to book to get a group rate. Don't worry, there are plenty of rooms to be had--and they'll be less than $50.00 each! Thanks for your patience everyone, and tomorrow I've also got to put some fresh rubber on Maynard if I'm going to make it home from Nevada next weekend! Link to comment
