Can I use an RT header pipe on an R1200ST???

One of the first hings I am doing to my bike is getting those damn babyshat-brown headers ceramic coated. Jet hot is not too far from me and I like their product.

 

But I *know* that I will not be able to stand the down time (no winter here to do mods! )...

 

So I am trying to source a header pipe. Needless to say I cant find an ST header pipe used. I read somewhere that an RT would work up to August '05, but my bike was first put into service in August '05 and I dont really know if that is true or not.

 

Obviously I am goign to have an easier time if there is some cross-platform compatibility where pipes are concerned here....

 

Anyone know what I can and cannot use?

Yes the RT & ST headers are the same.

Ok....

 

Now I see two part numbers:

 

18117676201 collector - Up to 08/2005

18117693905 collector - 08/2005 and above

 

What is the difference? Could I use either on my bike (first sold 8/05) or can I use only the earlier one?

That's a good question! Maybe the dealer can answer that for you. It does seem odd though.
