Boffin
Does anyone have a link to a procedure for dropping the forks on an 07 1200RT? Thanks The telelever front suspension precludes just dropping the forks through the yokes. You have to fit a shorter front shock. The RT is not a sports bike and will never handle like one but you can play with ride-height and effective steering angle by fittting an adjustable rear paralever strut. Andy Link to comment
StraffordBMW
What I'm looking for is the procedure to remove them (slide them down temporarily to reroute the cables & wires to the outside of the forks, them slide them back up/install them. Link to comment

That is what I thought. Pop the cap off the top of the fork, remove the nut, and slide the fork tube down. Reverse for installation. Though I have done this on a couple bikes like the R1200GS and the R1200ST, I am not sure if the handlebar mounts on the RT must be removed to get to the fork caps. Jim Link to comment
