Dropping Forks on 1200RT

Does anyone have a link to a procedure for dropping the forks on an 07 1200RT?

Thanks

The telelever front suspension precludes just dropping the forks through the yokes. You have to fit a shorter front shock.

The RT is not a sports bike and will never handle like one but you can play with ride-height and effective steering angle by fittting an adjustable rear paralever strut.

What I'm looking for is the procedure to remove them (slide them down temporarily to reroute the cables & wires to the outside of the forks, them slide them back up/install them.

That is what I thought.

Pop the cap off the top of the fork, remove the nut, and slide the fork tube down. Reverse for installation.

Though I have done this on a couple bikes like the R1200GS and the R1200ST, I am not sure if the handlebar mounts on the RT must be removed to get to the fork caps.
