I'm going to be wiring an escort 8500 to a new StarCom1 advanced I plan to install under the seat. I was wondering what do I have to remove to route an audio cable for the Escort under the tank to the the seat?

Just 4 screws that hold the silver tank bag mounting plate on the top of the tank. Run the wires under it and down between the front edge of the seat and the tank--and then replace it. No point in removing the tank.

The tupperware is pretty easy to remove. When I wired in my aux fuse panel I routed the wires along the frame under the tank. There's enough access so you don't need to remove anything else. If you go this route (rather than under the tank rail) you might want to consider running a couple of extra wires in case you want to add lights or other accessories in the future. All you'll have to do is hook them up then.
