'Normal' or cruise speed oil operating temperature for my 2000 RT-P will display 5 bars on the RID, with some 6 bar indications on 95 degree plus days.

I've posted an RID oil temp conversion chart that I downloaded from somewhere (sorry, I can't credit the author).

Interesting chart. What a contrast between levels of precision. BMW supplies graphical bars to show relative change. But the chart-maker show temperatures down to hundredths of a degree.
