Ken H.
As the last (unofficial) leg of the "Pied Piper Run", here's a proposed path. For all you hoons who will likely leave some of us in the dust, we'll see you at dinner, first one in buys! (Or is it the other way around, I can never remember...) Yeeha! Stephen
I'm "in" for this run. I'll probably be way out back, ever trying to catch up. Never been up this way on a bike and I'm sure the rubber-necking is gonna throw me on to the Tail End. Link to comment
KMG_365
Thanks, Ken!! I'm "in" for this run. I'll probably be way out back, ever trying to catch up. Never been up this way on a bike and I'm sure the rubber-necking is gonna throw me on to the Tail End. Hey, don't worry, Stephen, we'll be in the back there with you! We're not really two-up riders like Ken+Donna, Mark+Sylva, Lester+Nadine and quite a few other "pairs" riders here who make it look so easy, so while we won't be needing to stop to rest our butts or take pictures, we won't be hooning it up either! It's totally new country for both of us, so we'll be happy to just enjoy the scenery and meet up with the rest of the hoons for dinner in Fayetteville! Link to comment
gottago
what Jamie said even though we're not two up I'm old and slow. I'll be bringing up the rear and at the risk of appearing like a dufus is there a list of route numbers (directions) for non GPS'rs. I tried to correlate the map and the way points but all I got was a headache. Even using my huge magnifying glass. n Link to comment

Ken H.
Ken, Is this a rally point for the PP run? Steve Not it the official sense, to whatever extent there is anything 'official' with the UN at all! (Which is kind of the whole point!) The last official stop of the PP Run is Bud's in Nashville, IL, but a bunch of us (all?) on the PP Run are stopping at the Baymont Inn in Lexington, KY Sunday night. Plus I think there are some IL, IN, KY, etc. people who are join up in Lexington. So Lexington has just sort of morphed into an unofficial point on the PP Run. This route I posted in this thread is for those who want to go from there on to Fayetteville a more interesting way that just sit on I-64 (which will be much faster however). I suspect some will do one, some the other. Link to comment
KMG_365
Ken, Is this a rally point for the PP run? Steve Hi Steve! I guess it's not an official Pied Piper Rally Point, but there will be around 20 of us staying there at the Baymont Inn. I tried to get a count of who's already got a room, but if 20 of us do show up there--official or not--it still sounds like a party!! I called the hotel and there is a Cracker Barrell right across the street and a Bob Evans at the other end of the block. Both have similar menus and after calling them neither take reservations, nor have side rooms to house us separately. Both just asked to give them a few hours head's up and they would set up a group of table for us so that we could at least sit near each other. Neither restaurant serves beer or wine (though it is not in a dry county), but (if that's a deal-breaker for anyone) the nearest options for that are a 5 minute drive to either an Applebee's, TGI Friday's, Charlie's, etc. We seem to be in the middle of urban/sub-urban chain-store hell and I didn't see any other Mom&Pop places on Google earth within walking distance either. Unless someone has any first-hand knowledge of either of these two particular restaurants (the hotel clerk said they both were fine and she eats at both), I would recommend that we just BYOB to the hotel and walk across the street for dinner. After we've eaten, if the place is busy, there's still a long line at the desk and it's not conducive to just hanging out, we can re-convene across the street. We'll take over Ken's room and party there until the wee hours, use up all his toilet paper, soil the carpets, etc. and then stumble back to our own rooms! Sound good? So far I think I've got: Ken H. and Donna Leslie and Jamie Yeeha! and Miss Vickie Nancy and Gary Bud 3Putt Randy, Joel, Chris and Alan SageRider Mr. Zoom She couldn't give me names so I couldn't confirm anyone else (sixteen so far), but if you've got a room reservation already and want to put an "IN!!" here, please do! If you're looking to join us here's the info you'll need from Ken's post in the Pied Piper Run thread: Sunday night Sept. 2nd, 2007: Baymont Inn & Suites Lexington 2400 Buena Vista Road Lexington, KY 40505 US Phone: 859-293-6113 $54 a night (2 people) booked on Baymont Inn's own site - www.baymontinns.com Sunday will be a pretty lazy day to there from Bud's - 296 miles, but that will get us all nice and rested for the next day, which should be fun... We're thinking after overnighting in Lexington, then the next day (Monday Sept. 3rd) ride the Bert T. Comb's Mtn. Pkwy. (US402) then pick a way over to the Rivermans via 23 then 645 then 40 then 52 then 119 then 3 then 94 then jumping back on I64 for a short bit, then back off at Mossy onto 612 over to the Mountaineer Expy (Hwy 19)and on up to the Rivermans. I come up with 274 fun-filled twisty miles with that approach: Is anyone else getting excited yet, or is it just me?? Link to comment

Or are you going to try and 'intercept' the gang somewhere between Bentonville, AR and Nashville, IL? (Yeah, I know, this would be a lot of planning for YOU. .) Link to comment
