Adjusting Headlight Beam Throw

Which way do you turn the knob to lower the Headlight Beam?

 

I could not find, in either the Maintenance Instructions or the Riders Manual of this 2006 F650GS, which way to turn the knob to lower or raise the headlight beam.

 

The previous owner also had trouble with oncoming traffic flashing their high beams at him and I figured since a lowering kit was installed by the dealer the light wasn't adjusted properly.

 

I know I have a 50:50 shot but I would like to make slight adjustments to suit load from time to time and I need it wrote down so I can remember.

 

Also, how often and how much do you experienced riders need to adjust the headlight to accommodate different loads?
